DR. HEBER DUNAWAY: Hello. I'm Dr. Heber Dunaway. I'm a reproductive endocrinologist with the Fertility Institute of New Orleans. I grew up in New Orleans. I attended a private military academy for 12 years and upon graduation attended the University of Loyola, New Orleans. After Loyola I went on to medical school at LSU in New Orleans. I then completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at LSU. Following my residency I went on to Baylor College of Medicine and completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology.
While I was there in Houston I concentrated primarily on estrogen receptor work as my basic science project and then I completed a fellowship in reproductive surgery, specifically microsurgery and advanced laparoscopic techniques. Following completion of my fellowship I returned to New Orleans.
For the past two years I've been in private practice. I'm also with my partners on clinical faculty at LSU OBGYN department. I am past president of the New Orleans Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I'm past chief of staff of Lakeside Hospital. I was director of reproductive services for both Baton Rouge General and Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge as well as Lakeside Hospital locally.
