DR. RICHARD DICKEY: Ovarian stimulation is the use of medications to increase the number of follicles or eggs that are developing, and is used both in cycles for natural relations, for insemination, and for in vitro fertilization.
In cycles for natural relations and insemination, often we use the fertility pills of which one is clomiphene and there are others. For in vitro fertilization we use the gonadotrophin drugs, which require very careful monitoring but give the largest number of eggs.
