CATHERINE: My name is Catherine and I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. And Dr. Belinda Sartor was my IVF physician and Mary was my IVF nurse. And I am currently 20 weeks pregnant so I'm at the 5-month halfway mark, so it's kind of exciting.

When I first was talking about going through IVF with my husband, you know, we are post-Katrina in New Orleans, I thought, well certainly I am not going to find the caliber—you know, everything seemed so technical. I'm not going to find the caliber of doctor and lab services and just the technology in general that I'm going to need. Certainly I have to go New York City or I'm going to have to go to California. I'm going to have to go to a large city. And I ran across a woman who said you know, you might want to check this clinic out.

So I came to the Fertility Institute of New Orleans and met with the nurses and instantly felt at ease and peace and they made a very technical process, certainly when you're just sitting and talking about it in theory versus going through it, it's overwhelming. But they were breaking it down into manageable parts so it was something that I could understand. I thought, okay, I can do this and I have the confidence in you to, to invest my time and everything else and to do this.

And then beyond that it was the staff, you know, the staff from the moment you walk in the door, the receptionist when you call to the woman who draws blood, everyone is along the process with you. They, whether it's your first time going through this or your 30th time going through this, they're there. They're hoping. They're your biggest cheerleaders and they're just incredible.

And then, you know, once you go, once we decided, okay, this is what we're going to do. This is the clinic we're going to use, you go the step further and you're working with your doctor one-on-one and they, they make it easy. They made it an easy process for me, you know, it's a little overwhelming when you have to give yourself injections and you have to mix your medications and it's, you know, for someone who's, you know, that might watch this and go, oh, my God, I can't do that, they make it easy. They make it an easy, easy process.
